Larry is a senior executive with over 25 years experience operating businesses. He has had significant P&L operating experience and is an expert in retail management, start-ups, business development, franchise development and sales. He is noted for his success in developing and executing strategies for companies through a focus on customer service, top-line sales growth, cost management, organic growth, mergers and acquisitions.
Most recently, Larry was the CEO of a discount retailer with over 200 stores which also did over 30 acquisitions of small businesses to grow the breadth of its business. His role included building a complete infrastructure as it separated from its previous owner and turned around a company that had struggled for nearly 10 years. During the last 15 years, Larry worked with fortune 500 companies in M&A activities to accelerate growth in underdeveloped markets. He was successful at developing cost containment strategies along with new business delivery formats to accelerate growth. He is experienced in working with small businesses along with working on complicated M&A activities.
Prior to serving in CEO role Larry was the Vice President of Sam’s Club International, a Division of Wal-Mart Inc., and was responsible for the total operations in 6 countries. Before Wal-Mart Larry was the VP of Franchising for Toy’s ‘R’ Us International in 13 countries and was responsible for franchise development and operations of the franchise unit.
Larry started his business career with Weinstocks in Sacramento, CA and is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he earned a BA in American Studies with a minor in Economics.
