I started my career in banking but after eight years I decided that the corporate world was not for me.  So, I stepped out and bought a small business I worked during the day and took employment in the evenings to make sure I was financially secure.  Working 16–18-hour days was tough sometimes, but I was still much happier being self-employed. 

I eventually went on to buy and sell multiple businesses.  After selling one business I was offered a position by the purchaser, a large company, and decided to take it.  It did not take me long to realize why I left the corporate world to begin with and ventured out on my own again.

I sold my last business utilizing the services of Murphy Business Sales here in Columbia.  I was impressed by the professionalism and integrity of Murphy during the process.  The franchisee asked me what I was going to do after I sold my business, I was contemplating some other options, but the discussion led to me coming on board with Murphy.  It has been over five years since I made the decision and have enjoyed every day that I have been here.  It is a good fit for me, I love talking shop with business owners and as a former business owner I can relate to my clients and help guide them through the sales process.
