As you know, I had been looking for a business for three years and had limited success finding anything to fit my guidelines. It’s hard to believe that it has been a year

Dear Celine,

It’s hard to believe that it has been a year since Sue and I bought the pet shop. With each new year always comes a bit of reflecting back over the past twelve months. When Sue and I looked back this time we found some unfinished business that we should have taken care of long before now.

Celine, we want to commend you for your excellent service to us during the process of purchasing the store last January. From a buyer's point of view, we could not have asked for anything more. The entire process – initial contact, due diligence, closing and post-purchase follow up – was handled professionally and personable. We soon learned that we could not trust you and the information you provided to us, and very importantly, that we could not count on you to do what you said you'd do. The pet shop was the first business we'd purchased and we were reluctant buyers (aka scared and a bit suspicious of the whole process). Your guidance was a major reason that we had the confidence to take the plunge and make the offer.

After a year Sue and I are very glad we made the decision to buy the store. The projections you helped us put together are right on target. There is one additional benefit of small business ownership that you forgot to mention – it's easy to stick to a personal budget when you never have time to leave the store and buy anything!

Seriously, Celine, we consider you a consummate professional and good friend. We apologize for the long overdue letter of gratitude.
