You have probably heard that the real estate market is HOT right now. Realtors can’t find enough good houses (supply) to match with people looking to buy (demand). The same is true in business brokerage: We don’t have enough supply (sellers) to meet demand (buyers).
What does it mean when demand outstrips supply? Many sellers are getting full price offers for their companies, buyers are slightly less particular about deal points, and deals are going under contract quicker than usual. It’s a great time to be a seller. It’s also a great time to be a buyer if you are decisive, knowledgeable, and know what you want.
While 80% of the deals we do are not in our local market, we happen to have a great deal of demand for businesses here in Southeast Missouri right now. For instance, we have ready, willing, and able buyers for the following:
- Lawn care business in the Cape Girardeau/Jackson/Scott City/Sikeston areas. Minimum of 2-3 employees with equipment. Under $500,000.
- Construction related trade business (general contractor, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) in Cape Girardeau/Jackson/Scott City areas. Minimum of 3-5 employees. Under $500,000.
- Product or service-related business (not industry sensitive) in Cape Girardeau/Jackson area. $5 – $10 million in revenue with 10% minimum EBITDA.
- Manufacturing or construction related business within a 45-minute radius of Cape Girardeau. Purchase price in the $2 million range.
