When Alan Rossi decided to sell his Sears catalog store in Placerville, he hired a business broker to find a buyer. Rossi had no time, energy or expertise to market his Sears dealership, interview prospective buyers and negotiate terms.
Jerry Tsai of Murphy Business & Financial Corp. had the Sears catalog store sold within six months for more money than Rossi had anticipated. Rossi said the transaction was easier than getting a second mortgage on his house. It was "well worth the money I spent for the commission," he said.
Malcolm and Heather Dean, a recently married couple who bought Rossi's Sears catalog store in May, had never bought a business before. Broker Tsai provided constant communication and guidance, and made them feel comfortable with their purchase, Malcolm Dean said.
