Dad started this business in Sioux Falls, SD in 1996. He saw a need for a coupon book in Sioux Falls. He has kept many of the same customers all of these years, although new customers are added each year. The book has three main sections: the RESTAURANT SECTION, the ENTERTAINMENT SECTION, and the SHOPS AND SERVICES SECTION. This coupon book is about 200 pages of special coupons, many of them Buy One, Get One Free specials (BOGO offers). There are over 120 area restaurants, there are 16 area golf courses, twelve area car washes, and several oil change businesses, among many other businesses with special offerings in the book. The book is sold at retail for $35 each, at many locations in the Sioux Falls area. About half the coupon books sold are sold at retail, while the other half are sold as fundraisers for local sports teams, schools and churches. These organizations will buy a group of the books for less then $35 and will then sell them as fund raisers for $35 and keep the difference. The tremendous fund raising value every year is one reason so many books are sold. For many years Bob, the dad, would print and sell 7500 copies of the coupon book. In 2011, as Joe the son became the owner, 13000 copies were printed and sold. This almost doubled the sales in one year, and Joe is figuring on printing 20,000 copies for the next book. The only expense that increases with increased sales is the printing cost, so virtually all of the increase goes to the bottom line. Gross sales went from $148,215 to $333,374 in 2011. The owners benefit went from $97,442 to $272,664. The number sold went from 7500 to 13000, with the next book expected to sell 20,000. What an opportunity.
