Appraising Your Business
Whether you’re selling or buying, we’ll help turn your vision into reality.
A machinery and equipment appraisal is the independent and unbiased process of determining the supportable opinion of value of tangible assets as of a specific date. Appraisals can be performed for a variety of value premises—from fair market value in place and in use to forced liquidation value. We can often help you sell your underutilized capital equipment and are experienced in the science and art of machinery and equipment appraisals. We perform all equipment appraisals in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice—USPAP—of the Appraisal Foundation. By complying with these industry standards, we deliver defensible opinions of value backed by proven peer-reviewed appraisal methods. Accurate machinery and equipment appraisals are often needed as part of a formal business valuation and for a range of other reasons:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Litigation support
- Divorce
- Buyout agreements
- Estate settlements
- ESOPs
- Loans/financing
- Partnership dissolution
- Foreclosures
- Retirement planning
- Insurance purposes
- Trust planning
- “C” corporation to “S” corporation conversion
- Business liquidation
We offer two types of machinery and equipment appraisal reports:
- Desktop report. This is a hypothetical determination of value based solely on information provided by the client and conducted without benefit of a physical inspection.
- Summary appraisal report. This is a certified restricted-use summary report of a full USPAP-compliant appraisal based on physical inspection of the items appraised.
