Matt O'Brien

About

Matt O’Brien is a businessowner having experienced both buy and sell sides transactions.  Many of those experiences involved Murphy Business. He pursued the opportunity to join Murphy eagerly knowing how beneficial the firm has been to his career.

Originally in the commercial insurance space, Matt changed direction and pursued entrepreneurship. He found the opportunity in trucking through acquisition and grew a company of 3 employees and trucks to almost 30. The growth was organic and bolt on acquisitions with a successful exit in 2021. In 2022 he acquired a niche commercial construction company through acquisition and leads the business as Chairman to 75% increase in revenue in 2.5 years.

Matt understands the preparation needed to both purchase and sell a business.  Not only does he recognize the financial literacy required but personally understands the emotion that is included.

He is married to his wife, Jacquelyn, who is also a businessowner through acquisition.  Their daughter, Collins is 9 and son, Beckett is 7.  They enjoy travel, Louisville Cardinal sports and watching their kids compete in sports.
