Ken Tallmadge brings a lifetime of business expertise to Murphy Business & Financial and Murphy M&A Advisors. As a vital member of the Murphy Carolina team and franchisee, he applies his extensive knowledge and hands-on experience to help small and middle-market business owners prepare their companies for sale. He expertly executes transactions, allowing owners to remain focused on running their daily operations while he assists buyers in identifying opportunities that align perfectly with their strategic and economic requirements.
After earning a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina (Coastal Carolina Branch), Ken owned and operated several successful businesses across South Carolina and North Carolina. Since 1993, his portfolio has included a Mrs. Fields Cookie franchise, two retail shops in major shopping malls, and two water treatment companies. Notably, he led a Kinetico water treatment dealership to over 500% growth, managing all operations, HR, and marketing while holding plumbing licenses in both Carolinas.
A unique foundation in public service further defines his professional background, starting with his graduation from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He served as a Law Enforcement Officer for the City of Rock Hill, where he also held roles as a Field Training Officer and Ethics Instructor. This diverse history as both an owner and a public servant allows him to provide clients with a disciplined, firsthand perspective on the entrepreneurial journey.
Recognized as an award-winning broker and a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club, Ken has demonstrated a consistent commitment to high sales volume and client success.
