Rob Melhem has over 30 years of experience as an investor/manager of a family office (family run private equity group), and business leader and facilitator of high-dollar and high-impact success. In these roles he has been involved in numerous transactions as the buyer, seller, or investor.
Before joining Murphy Business and Financial Corporation, Rob’s career involved time in such industries as banking, manufacturing and private equity. He has administered accounting, auditing, personnel, and operations departments for mid-sized as well as fortune 100 companies and has performed considerable C-suite strategic planning. During the last twenty years, he has performed numerous business valuations and acquisition negotiations in the private equity industry. This breadth, depth and repetition make Rob a valuable resource for those looking to plan, prepare and execute an exit strategy, as well as those that endeavor to find that perfect company to acquire.
Rob has been a trusted fiduciary, persuasive communicator, precise evaluator and effective facilitator of growth and change. His history includes credit analysis in the banking industry, financial management and strategic planning in the textile manufacturing industry, and deal-structure and negotiations in the private equity industry. Finally, Rob is a dedicated community member who has offered leadership participation and professional services to a variety of non-profit organizations in the Greensboro area.
Rob attained his undergraduate business degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC, and his MBA from Wake Forest’s Babcock School of Management in Winston Salem, NC. He and his family have lived in Greensboro for over 22 years.
