As an accomplished senior executive with more than three decades of financial, human resource and IT management experience as a “Big 4” partner, CFO and business owner, Michael has helped many business owners plan and execute a successful transition as they exit or enter their company.
Michael started his career in 1990 in public accounting with a “Big 4” firm, spending the last 13 years with the firm as a partner. His work included advising clients on ‘life-event’ business transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, public and private debt and equity transactions and bank debt refinancing.
Subsequent to that, Michael served as a Chief Financial Officer of a medium sized business that was experiencing severe financial challenges. His responsibilities included finance, human resources, IT and administration. As the finance leader he refinanced the debt structure of the organization, implemented substantial EBITDA savings in all aspects of the business and facilitated a budget process that brought the organization back to a more stable financial standing.
Since then Michael has pursued his dream of owning a business and in 2017 acquired an occupational health company. As Chief Executive Officer, he has been responsible for all aspects of the business including operations, human resources, IT, marketing, customer acquisition, pricing and cash flow management.
Thirty years of experience being involved with businesses large and small has afforded Michael unique skills to assist clients on the buy or sell side of business transactions. Michael has been involved in business transfers of all sizes, large and small. Each transaction presents its own challenges and 30 years of business experience across many industries has provided Michael the experience to understand the options to overcome those challenges and move the deal to close.
