2025 Awards

The team at Murphy Business of Cape, a full-service business brokerage firm, was recently recognized with four awards from Murphy Business Sales: two Multi-Million Dollar Club awards, Top Producer, and Top Franchise. With more than 160 franchise units and 225+ business brokers across the United States and Canada, these achievements represent a distinguished level of performance within the network.

Murphy Business Top Producer honors are awarded to the top 15 brokers in the Murphy Business Sales network who best represent the brand through exceptional client satisfaction and high-level closed transactions. Jennifer Smith Broeckling earned this award. The Multi-Million Dollar Club recognition is reserved for brokers who secured more than $2 million in transactions in 2025. The team’s two brokers, Jennifer Smith Broeckling and Melanie Smollen, each won this award.

“We are honored to be recognized with many of these awards for several years in a row,” said Kate Roth, project manager for the team. “Adding Top Franchise and coming in at #7 in North America this year was testament to how this team goes above and beyond to serve our clients.”

The awards were presented at Murphy Business Sales’ annual conference in Clearwater, Florida, on April 22, 2026. The conference recognizes outstanding franchisees and agents while providing advanced education workshops and networking opportunities for members of the Murphy Business brokerage network. Broeckling, Smollen, and Roth each conducted educational sessions at the conference.

“Congratulations to the outstanding team in Cape Girardeau for being named among our Top Franchises along with their other wins,” said Veronica Ellinger, chief executive officer of Murphy Business Sales. “I’m proud of how they serve clients with the utmost honesty, integrity, and professionalism. This team exemplifies the excellence we strive for daily. They, along with all our associates, contributed to a record-breaking 2025 and will continue to drive our ongoing success.”
